1. How does moovando work?
Moovando is a car sharing scheme. If you are a driver, you can put your travel details on the website. These include the date of a travel and the route. If a potential passenger wishes to join the driver for that specific route, he can contact the driver and they can make arrangements to meet.
2. What should I put in my profile?
We suggest you create a profile. This allows a potential passenger/driver to have a look at a picture of you as well as a few other personal details, before agreeing to the ride. Upload a picture of yourself, and put down a few words about how you would describe yourself. Add your favourite hobbies, your philosophy, your interests - whatever you like...this part is up to you!
3. How does the rating system work?
Once you have had an experience, either as a passenger or driver you can access the relevant profile and rate the experience with that person. The scale is from one to five, with five being a very positive experience and 0 being a very negative experience.
4. How much does it cost?
This depends entirely on the driver and the distance. We suggest you divide the fuel costs for the route by the number of passengers. For example if it costs 9 pounds of petrol to drive from Leeds to Manchester and there are 3 people in the car, everyone would contribute 3 pounds.
5. What is the philosophy of moovando?
This lift sharing scheme relies on strangers coming together and trying to make a difference, both environmentally and socially. Our aim in creating such a portal is to promote openness and social awareness, as well as contribute to protecting the environment from excess pollution.
6. Is moovando safe to use?
The idea of moovando is modelled from a similar scheme which has been successful in Germany for over 10 years.
Contrary to previous attempts to establish car sharing schemes, moovando offers a rating system. This allows both driver and passenger to rate the other for future reference to other potential users. Furthermore, both have the option of leaving personalised testimonials, allowing a detailed description of the encounter. Obviously we cannot guarantee anything regarding the use of our website, but we believe and hope that those participating in the "moovement" share our vision of coming together to make a difference.
7. Who is allowed to use moovando?
If you are over 18 and in full awareness of the terms and conditions associated with the use of this site, we welcome you to make use of this site as often as you wish. As a driver you are obligated to be in possession of a valid driver's licence and your car must be in safe driving condition.
8. Am I allowed to make a profit from a ride?
As a driver using moovando you are not permitted to make a profit from sharing a ride. More specifically, this means that the overall passenger contribution may not exceed your cost for petrol, maintenance, insurance, etc, for the specific distance covered.
This would not only invalidate your insurance, in most cases, but it is also against the Terms and Conditions agreed upon registration.
9. What if I have further questions that have not been mentioned above?
With our live support, you can directly get in touch with the administrators through chat. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen, you should see a grey button. Just click on it, sign in and fire away. We will be glad to help you with any queries you may have.
